After over 30 years in practice peter Mackellar has decided to hang up his surgical gown and take a well deserves retirement.  He will be missed as he spends more time travelling and dancing his way through retirement.

Drakes will remain an independent locally owned and run practice as Karen Tyrrell (current director) , Chris Jones and Dermot Clarke take over to continue Drake’s development.

We now offer regenerative medicine techniques for joint disease.  This involves either stem cell treatment or enriched platelet therapy and is particularly useful for arthritic joints or following joint surgery (cruciate injuries etc).  This technique is still classed as experimental although we are seeing some impressive results with both stem cell and platelet therapy.  If you want more information please feel free to contact us.
